Today is a day of remembrance and a day of gratitude! To my father and my son's and the father's of our grandchildren (now and in the future), may this day be a blessing of peace and joy to each of you!
Thanks Dad for a legacy of integrity and love. Your experiences in life, and the devotion to striving in doing what is right amid the challenges and opportunities therein have been a great tutoring process for me in my life. Having observed and been taught by and through your experiences has laid a foundation of integrity, love, and a devotion to correct principles in my life. Thank you for being an example, and for being one willing to give the measure of all that you have for what is right and good. I am not sure, as a young man of 15, that I could have stood as you did and have become what you have become. To know of and witness your capacity to see the better part and choose with integrity, has been a blessing in my life. I am grateful that you are my dad, and grateful for the love and concern that you have given. Thank you for your testimony, lived and spoken of the Savior. Happy Father's Day!
To each of our five sons, may you know of our love with gratitude for the immeasurable joy and peace you provide! Given recent events and ponderings, it is your devotion to what is right and good evidenced in how you honor your priesthood, your tenderness to your wives and children and the manner in which you provide for each that matters and that is a comfort to me. The meekness and submissiveness to He whose love for each of us was express in His Atoning sacrifice is illustrative of who you are - thank you. There is no greater joy that we can experience than that of the love born of our Savior, but within that joy is the infinite love we share with each other. I am not sure that words can express that which sustains us and comforts us beyond measure, but to know within the homes of our children that each shares a constant and common love for He who gave all, that we might have joy, opens the windows of Heaven today. As stated to your wives previously, thank you for the glimpse of what is and what can be eternally. May you enjoy, in abundance, the bounty of this special Sabbath day - that with an eternal perspective, know that each of you are loved, always! There is no greater joy! Happy Father's Day!!!
