An Oxford Graduation

Julianne and Lauren at St. Cross

We have attended many graduations in our day, from kindergarten to junior high, from junior high to high school, from high school to college and from college to post-graduate ceremonies, but of all that we have attended, Oxford was truly unique. Having remained unchanged for 800 years, we witnessed (in Latin) how all who have attended Oxford have graduated.

As Elliott posted here, it was not filled with lengthy speeches or common celebration, but in solemnity and tradition. The graduates swore their oath (do fidem) to the University with a reverent bow and return doffing of the cap. Congratulations to Julianne for achieving what few achieve.

Julianne and Dean at St. Cross - doesn't he epitomize an Oxford Dean?

It is now on to UNLV for Lincoln's sojourn through post graduate studies in dentistry.
